Before: The
dated black leather furniture brings down the level of sophistication
of this classic pre-war condo unit. Boring white walls lose
the detail of the room.
|
After: The
walls are painted a warm color that reflects light and highlights
the beautiful woodwork. Exchanging furniture from another room,
the leather pieces are replaced with a deco couch and a small
chair and ottoman, creating a natural seating arrangement. A
small antique armoire balances the radiator and free standing
sculpture opposite. The rug is exchanged for one that fits the
scale of the furniture and works better with the new room color.
The result is a simple yet inviting sophisticated space. |
